The Rockfishing here and everywhere in California has been restricted extensively.  We fish light tackle and can only fish in shallow water.  Fishin with the light gear makes it fun and this is a great way to introduce a child to ocean fishing.  It's just plain fun, easy fishing.  Our rockfish season seems to be changin every year but usually runs from late spring until the end of the year.

The Halibt we catch are California Halibut.  The average weight is 10-20 pounds with many going 30+ pounds. We drift for Halibut in the shallows with faily light gear.  There is no cut and dry season for Halibut but we usually fish for them in the summer.  We also catch flounder, sole and sanddabs when we are fishing the sandy bottom.

Albacore is really our specialty.  Both the Kahuna and the Atun have been the boats to go on here for tuna.  We usually run about 50 miles on the average but sometimes have to go 80-90miles.  We will go where the fish are.  Both vessels can carry plenty of live bait. Kahuns takes 12 anglers max and the Atun takes 6 anglers.  We usually start looking for Albacore in July but we have started in June and it goes into October and even as late as January of the next year.
